Academic/Spiritual Program

Saint Brigid Middle School offers a core curriculum developed by the Saginaw Diocese Office of Education, aligned with state standards.

All Middle School students take the following core subjects:

  • Religion
  • Language Arts
  • Science
  • Math (includes advanced math as needed)
  • Social Studies
  • Western Hemisphere (sixth grade)
  • Eastern Hemisphere (seventh grade)
  • American History (eighth grade)

Elective courses include:

Faith Education
The sharing and development of our Catholic faith, traditions, and values are taught in formal lessons and incorporated into the academic curriculum and daily activities. Students join together in the Circle of Prayer daily in the classroom and weekly as a full student body, and attend Mass each Wednesday, with each grade rotating responsibility for Mass ministries. Students also develop and attend other prayer services, church services, and programs throughout the school year.

Special Needs
A part-time reading specialist works with students who read below their grade level. When time permits, she works on enrichment activities with students.

Typical School Day and Times
7:55 a.m. School begins for all grades
7:55 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Full middle school day (sixth through eighth grades)

Athletics
Saint Brigid school is now participating in the Valley Parochial League and offers extracurricular boys and girls basketball and girls volleyball for fifth through eighth grades.
